A NEW gardeners' group has been launched in Weaverham following the success of the village's annual horticultural show.
The Weaverham and District Gardeners' Group holds its first meeting at Wallerscote School on Tuesday, October 26.
It is currently drawing up a programme for the next 12 months, which will include talks and demonstrations, visits to gardening attractions and a plant fair.
The group's chairman, Joy Brain, said: "None of those involved in the venture would class themselves as anything but enthusiastic amateur gardeners but we all share an interest in plants, whether decorative or for the kitchen table, or simply growing grass or hedges.
"The group members will share their ideas and experience in a relaxed and friendly manner."
The group would welcome any new members from Weaverham or its surrounding villages and potential new members would be welcome at the first meeting free of charge, with a view to becoming members for £5 a year.
