THE Warrington YMCA furniture project may be in jeopardy unless it finds a new source of funding.
In 2002, as demand for the service grew, the project received financial support from the Community Fund.
But with the funding ending in July next year, the YMCA is appealing to companies and the community to provide an alternative solution.
The project involves collecting furniture from people that have asked for it to be taken away.
The furniture is then given to people who are starting out and in need of furniture or basic utensils.
Items that can be donated range from irons or kettles to beds and sofas.
The project has been running successfully for more than 10 years.
