A LOLLIPOP father and daughter team is helping children cross roads safely in Orford.
Debbie Kemble persuaded her 59-year-old dad, Ray, to make the career move after he retired. Although only in the job for two weeks, Ray says he loves the work.
He said: "It's just lovely meeting all the kids. Over tea one day Debbie was talking about her job and convinced me I'd like it as well."
Debbie, aged 35, and Ray
help children from Beamont and St Benedict's schools cross the road on Hallfields Lane and Withers Avenue.
Nik Iddon, Warringt on Borough Council's school crossing patrol supervisor, said: "This crossing has been vacant for
some time and it had generated a lot of concern from the local community and some readers letters in the Warrington Guardian. This is the only father and daughter team in Warrington and I would be surprised if not in the country."
