I HAVE been fishing and shooting since the 1970s and my first responsibilities were when I became head gamekeeper for the Bold and Aston estates.

This is when I first noticed the changes.

People started to interfere with our sports during the 60s.

I started buying shooting and fishing rights and by the mid 70s I owned all of the shooting around Halton, which I rent out to a number of field sports organisations.

My main interest at the moment is running my vehicle hire firm and I don't have enough time to defend my true passion.

This probably applies to a lot of other people too. We should all be out there protesting, it's our duty. I certainly will be from now on; the whole thing makes my hair stand on end.
