WIDNES Moorfield ended the first half of the season with an emphatic win over West Houghton.
With the first play of the match Elliott Dennett took the ball and scored in the corner.
Immense tackling and strong running kept West Houghton at bay.
Determined running by Ross Holland, Alex Smith and Jack Connor set up field position for many of their teammates to score some outstanding tries.
David Woodward's long distance score and Michael Porter's jinking try showed the depth of players skills.
A superb hat-trick from Konnagh Hill as well as tries from Lewis Whitfield (2) who had perhaps his best game yet for the club, Alex Mellor, Edward Connor, Elliott Dennett (2), David Woodward and Michael Porter sealed the victory.
This week's awards could have gone to any number of players, however man of the match was Michael Smith, supporters' man of the match Lewis Whitfield, top tackler Edward Connor and coach's award Ross Holland.
Despite the winter break, Moorfield will continue to train at Kingsway Leisure Centre at 10.30am each Saturday morning. New players are always welcome.
