PROTECT your family from a terrorist attack with the help of a new Runcorn company.

NBC Services sell plastic shelters and survival packs to deal with chemical and biological attacks.

The shelters can fit four, six or 15 people in a pressurised bubble.

They can be stored in a compact box and is used by the French, Swiss and Spanish Army and civil defence organisations, says the company.

The 'AttackPack' contains a respirator, protective suit, anti-bacterial wipes - and more.

NBC moved into The Heath Business Park in Runcorn two months ago.

"This is unique. There's no other company nearby offering these products," said Runcorn-born marketing director, Dave Watson.

But is there a market for this equipment?

"If you go and look at something like the MI5 website it's pretty scary reading," said Mr Watson. "There's a lot of talk about Government spin, but the reality is that it's all happening. They are keeping lots of things quiet and not creating a fuss. There's definitely a market out there."

He added: "In the United States this sort of product sells amazingly well, although people there are slightly more security conscious than we are here."

He said NBC aims to be a 'one stop shop' for everything from first aid courses to decontamination equipment to protect against accidents or attacks.

It offers equipment maintenance and training as well as a range of nuclear, biological and chemical equipment.

"We have got something for everybody from a private house holder through to industry through to Government agencies," said Mr Watson.
