SOMEONE from Vale Royal could be a millionaire this Christmas - but they have not yet claimed their share of last month's £10million National Lottery jackpot.

One of six winning tickets from the lottery's jackpot-only Birthday Draw on Saturday, November 6, was bought in the area, Camelot has revealed.

The company is launching a search to find the mystery ticket holder, who has yet to come forward to claim their fortune of £1,666,667.

The ticket holders have until 5.30pm on May 5 next year to claim their prize, after which time the money, together with the interest it has generated, will go to the lottery's good causes.

However, Camelot cannot reveal at which shop the ticket was bought because it could affect the winner's right to anonymity.

The winning numbers for the draw were: 5, 17, 23, 26, 42 and 48.

The special draw, which took place at Tate Modern in London on the first National Lottery Day, was to thank players for their support over the past 10 years. Players who bought a ticket for the main Lotto draw on November 6 automatically had their line of numbers entered into the special draw for free.

Two more of the jackpot prizes, both for the same amount, have also remained unclaimed.

Camelot spokesman Fabian Devlin said: "Someone is going to have the best Christmas ever - £1.6million is a life-changing amount and we are still hopeful that the winners will come forward.

"It was Bonfire Night the day before, so people may even have been out at fireworks parties and forgotten to check their ticket with all the excitement.

"Whoever they are, wherever they are, there is still plenty of time to claim, so please get out the old shopping receipts, look through pockets and dig down the back of the sofa.

"The champagne is on ice and all we need now is the names to put on those cheques."

Anyone who believes they may have a winning ticket for the draw should call the National Lottery Line on 0845 910 0000.
