OVER Probus celebrated its founders' day with a short service of dedication in St Peter's Church, Little Budworth.

The service was conducted by the Rev Twinn, during which the names of past members, including the founder members, were read out by the secretary Mr McClarren.

The reading was given by president Gordon Farr and afterwards, members and friends returned to the Red Lion for a light lunch.

On November 22 members changed their venue when they met at the United Reformed Church, Over Square, to be enlightened on the history and delights of chocolate by Mr Hardy.

He explained that his family had been connected with sweets and confectionary for three generations and he decided to enter into the field of handmade chocolates when he bought the Old Fire Station in Tarporley.

Mr Hardy demonstrated the production and decoration of various chocolate shapes and then members were treated to some of his samples. The next meeting will be held at the Red Lion, Little Budworth.
