THE president opened the November meeting of Winsford WI, which was well attended.

Two guests from Whitegate WI, who were the tellers for the annual meeting, were warmly welcomed.

Before business, a hotpot supper was provided, which was enjoyed by all.

Thanks went to Margaret, who made the delicious meringues members had with the tea and coffee.

No ballot was necessary for the new committee, as two members had retired and three had agreed to serve in 2005. Betty Johnson was elected the new president.

The treasurer, secretary and president gave their annual reports and the treasurer reminded members that subscriptions were now due.

The president thanked the retiring committee, with a special mention for Shirley, who had made her house available for committee meetings.

The president reminded members of forthcoming events and asked for used stamps to be collected in aid of Guide Dogs for the Blind.

The 15th birthday dinner will be held at Hartford College, on January 12.

The Makepeace Competition Shield was presented to Freda, who had gained the most points during the year.

The raffle prizes were won by June and Margaret and thanks go to the committee for the refreshments.

The meeting closed about 9.30pm with a reminder that the next meeting will be on December 13 at 7.30pm. There will be musical entertainment.
