THE Warrington branch of the Soroptimists International has come up with a novel way of celebrating its 60th anniversary.

The club, a business women's organisation, has decided to introduce a Woman in the Community Award as part of its celebrations.

Readers are invited to nominate anyone they know who deserves such a title describing why you feel the person is worthy of the award.

Nominations should be sent to Mrs Eileen Griffiths, 23 Churchfields, Croft, Warrington, WA3 7JR.

The prize for the award winner and nominator is a dinner for two with Soroptimist International of Warrington at its annual dinner on Friday, April 22, next year at the Statham Lodge Hotel.

The winner will also receive a prize of £100 funded by Phil Williams and Company Insurance Management of Stockton Heath.

The closing date for applications is March 31, 2005.
