Fitting end to a successful season
WARRINGTON'S 16-year and under water polo team secured another victory in the Liverpool and District Championship in Birkenhead on Sunday.
They rounded off a successful season by beating Chester 13-6 in the first game and defeated Birkenhead 10-1 in the second.
Warrington finished top of the table. All of their outfield players scored goals but their leading goal scorers were Hazel Musgrove, five, Robert Dickenson, three, Heather Fox, three, Rabah Tahraoui, three, Rafik Tahraoui, three and Samir Tahraoui, three.
The other team members were Mark Waters, Andrew Byrne, Nathan Whitney and Abbey Donnell-Jones.
Schoolboys crash
WARRINGTON Schoolboys under 11s representative soccer side have missed out on the chance to play in the final of the Everton Cup.
They lost an end-to-end semi-final clash with Wirral 1-0 despite excellent individual performances from players of the match George Raye and Marcus Phillips.
Andy Graham and Josh Green also impressed for Warrington, who play Huyton in the league at the weekend.
Wightman wins
ROSS Wightman edged out a King and Queen clubmate to take the latest Richmonds Winter Sweep title.
He beat Damian Morrison 21-20 in the final and the losing semi-finalists were Ray Nevins and P Lawrenson, who play for St Oswalds and St Albans respectively.
RL coach needed
RYLANDS Sharks under 12s Rugby League team are in need of a coach.
The new chief would need to be qualified to club coach level and anyone who is interested should contact Stuart Driscoll on 07843 064046 for further details.
Christmas dance
EAGLE Rugby Union Football Club will hold their Christmas dance at Eagle Sports Club tomorrow, Friday.
The event will start at 7.30pm and all parents, players and ex-players are welcome to attend.
Annual meeting
GRANGE Sports Club will hold their pensioners' bowls section's annual registration meeting in the McMillan Lounge on Tuesday.
The meeting will start at 2pm and all past and present members are invited to attend.

NEW players are sought for Matthiola Junior Football Club's under 11s team.
