SOCRATES and Halton Arms are through to the semi-finals of Warrington Sunday Soccer League's Denis Scholes Challenge Trophy.

A 3-0 victory over Tully Park Rangers booked Socrates' safe passage and on the score sheet for them were Craig Hoyland, two and Dave Yardley.

Cheshire Hawthorne went down 2-0 to Halton Arms.

Pierpoints successfully came through their Premier Cup clash with Ryder FC. It was 2-2 at half-time and Pierpoints scored two late goals. On target for Pierpoints were Dave Holmes, two, Mike O'Brien and Scott Taylor.

In the President's Cup, Callands proceeded to the next round with a 3-1 win against Racing Rovers. Dave Balmer netted for Rovers.

Causeway earned a 3-1 win against FC Lion in Division One. Lion's Dave McMahon was on the score sheet and, for Causeway, goals came courtesy of Anthony Hyde, Richard Hill and Matthew Bell.

Real Gate stayed top of the division with a 4-2 win against Wilkies. Mike Scully scored all four of Real Gate's goals.

Brooklands and Elephant FC shared eight goals in their Division Two game. For Brooklands, Mike Buckley, Liam Holbrook, Scott Hamilton and Kev Applegate hit the target.

Commercial Exhausts came out on top 2-1 in their Division Three game against Crossbar thanks to goals from John Lang and Jamie Thompson, who netted from the half way line.

Dog and Partridge must be kicking themselves after letting a three-goal advantage slip away. They were cruising courtesy of goals by Alan Owen, Gary Derbyshire and Ian Jostlin but FC Barge fought back with strikes by Ste Edwards, Mark Newby, Phil Brake, Chris Hughes and Dave Williams.

General Electronique had goals from Adam Smith, Andy Charters and Jamie Pates in their 3-1 win against Spa Brook.
