CHRISTMAS shoppers are being asked to help St Rocco's Hospice break its own festive fundraising record by supporting its charity stall situated in the Golden Square Shopping Centre.

The town is being asked to stop at the charity stall and help support the hospice by either making a donation or choosing from a vast array of gifts.

Last year the stall, manned by volunteers, raised a massive £24,000 thanks to the kindness of shoppers in the town, and fundraiser Stan 'the man' Hadcroft hopes to break his own record this year.

He said: "I want to hit the £28,000 mark this year.

"So far we've made £13,000 in just two weeks so I'm confident we can do it with the help of the people of Warrington.

"This year we've got more tables and a lot more variety."

The stall will be in the Golden Square Shopping Centre from Monday to Friday up until Christmas Eve, from 9am until 5pm, and on Sundays from 10am until 4pm.

This year the stall is selling Christmas teddies and hedgehogs, Spiderman dolls, Christmas cards, 2005 calendars, £1 coin key rings and lots more St Rocco's merchandise.
