A WOMAN disturbed a burglar at her Fearnhead home on Friday afternoon.
The 42-year-old returned to her house, at Welsby Close, at around 3.30pm, to find a man in her downstairs bedroom.
The woman tried to grab the burglar but he ran past her and got away. The intruder had got into the house by opening a safe on the outside of the house that contained a house key.
It appears the burglar knew the combination to the safe, which was used by the previous, elderly resident of the house.
