Protesters have lost their fight against Scottish Power's plans to build a £100 million gas plant on the outskirts of Knutsford.
A High Court judge today (Thursday) ruled that the power giant could build the site in Byley more than four years after it originally submitted the plans.
Mr Justice Davis said Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott was right to overrule a public inquiry inspector and approve the plant.
See next week's Knutsford Guardian for full details of the judgement and reaction from the protesters and Scottish Power.
