at Byley
FOLLOWING its success at this year's Edinburgh Fringe, the satirical sketch show From Here To Absurdity can be seen at Byley Village Hall on Saturday, December 11.
The comedy show, which is slightly different to stand up, was conceived and written by Manchester Grammar School teacher Rick Kelly, who also writes satirical pieces for Private Eye and The Spectator.
As well as being performed at this year's Edinburgh Fringe, the show has played to numerous pubs, clubs and theatres across the country. A series with Radio 4 is currently being negotiated.
The Absurdity team will perform 90 minutes of original sketches and adapted songs, focussing on the assorted idiocies of everyday life.
Their subjects include prattish ramblers, dumbed-down chat shows, supermarkets, patronising rest homes, yobbish soccer fans, extortionate house prices, Lancastrian fascists, chippy Liverpudlians, death, birth, marriage and divorce. The show starts at 7.30pm and tickets are £5.
