TRIBUTES have been paid to the teenage cousin of Ryan Kelly after she died suddenly.

Poppy Bracey died earlier this month at her home in Lowton on the second anniversary of Ryan being killed in Warrington town centre in a random attack in 2008.

Poppy a ‘lively and friendly’ 13-year-old used to live on Orchard Avenue in Lymm.

She was a pupil at Lowton High School when she was found at home last Monday, March 1.

Her uncle Sean, Ryan’s dad, said Poppy was a ‘gorgeous’ girl.

Head teacher John Shanahan added: “Poppy was a lively, bright and friendly young person who was popular with staff and students.

“She will be remembered for the care and consideration she showed to others as well as for her dry sense of humour.

“The school community has been deeply shocked by her tragic death, and our thoughts and prayers are with Poppy’s family and friends at this difficult time.”

And tributes have been paid to Poppy on social networking site Facebook.

Friend Laura Rampling wrote: “My gorgeous friend, love and miss you baby girl. In my heart forever.”

Rachel Orrell West said: “RIP Poppy. We will all miss you, love you.”

Sue Higson added: “Poppy you are an angel, hope you are resting in peace and smiling down to your family and friends, who are missing you every day. God only takes the best young.

“You are in heaven, and this must be hell for your family without you.”

Ryan died in March 2008, three days after being attacked by Wayne Jenks on Rylands Street while on a night out in the town centre.

Police say there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding Poppy’s death and the details have been passed to the coroner.

Her funeral takes place on Wednesday.
