A MAN has died after being struck by a train in Daresbury.
Emergency services were contacted at 2.35pm yesterday following reports that a man had been hit by a train on Red Brow Lane, Daresbury.
The 54-year-old man, from Preston on the Hill, suffered fatal injuries.
His family has been informed.
The train was a freight train travelling from Daventry, Northamptonshire to Cotes Bridge, Scotland.
Police are treating the death as unexplained but do not believe that anyone else was involved.
