TWO Culcheth Guides are set to pack their bags and represent the village at gatherings across the world.

And the fundraising has already started to help the pair, from the 7th Culcheth Guides, join in with the international events.

Kate Davidson, aged 13, is joining a group of Guides and Scouts who will be going to the World Scout Jamboree in Sweden along with 40,000 others. And Zoe Isles, aged 14, and a year 10 pupil at Birchwood Community High School, will be travelling with a group of 11 other Guides and three adult leaders to Siberia, Russia. They will be living with Siberian families to promote guiding and scouting.

A spokesman for the Guides said: “Both girls have done extremely well to gain places on these international trips and they are helping to grow guiding in this country and abroad. “To cover the cost of these trips the girls need to raise £1,800 each – this will just cover the cost of travel.”

The Guides have already organised bag packing at Sainsburys in May.
