Pets set for weight watching

FAT pets are being offered a life line thanks to a new weight watchers scheme for animals.

With 50 per cent of cats and dogs estimated to be clinically obese, Pets at Home, on Riverside Retail Park, has launched a new weight management centre to offer pet owners the chance to help their animals lose weight.

Pet owners will receive a consultation with a pet nutrition adviser to assess their animals’ wellbeing and to take weight and waistline measurements.

Owners will be given advice on the best route to weight loss and receive a goal weight and target date with regular progress meetings.
