RIXTON will be in full bloom, this Saturday, when an orchid show comes to the community hall on Manchester Road.
From 10.30am to 3pm, a range of stunning orchids will be on display and entry is free.
The event has been organised by the North of England Orchid Society, which is the oldest society of its kind in the world, dating back to 1897.
Society vice president George Barnes said: “Our monthly shows are a must for orchid enthusiasts or just lovers of plants, with displays, sales tables and friendly help and advice always available.”
