A GREAT Sankey author is set to have his second novel hit the bookshelves in the autumn.
Gary Speakman, of Penketh Road, a regional sales manager for building merchants Travis Perkins, is on his way to completing his second thriller, a year after he started writing.
The 40-year-old dad-of-two, pictured, said: “I would send e-mails to my colleagues and one of them suggested I should write a book and so I started thinking about it.
“I was driving when I got the opening line of my first book, Six of the Best, and six weeks later I had written it.”
His latest novel, Sell Your Soul for Six Pence’is a follow-up to his debut and tells the tale of Steve Raemoss, a man who gets tired of his daily life as a salesman and, in search of adventure, ends up getting into trouble with gangsters in Liverpool.
