A TALENTED boy received a special package on his 10th birthday after winning a national competition.
St Monica’s Catholic Primary School pupil Ciaran McCafferty entered the Chococo chocolate competition after seeing an advert appealing for chocolate lovers to design their own chocolate bar.
The determined boy from Firs Lane, Appleton, carefully designed a bar with all of his favourite ingredients – dark, milk and white chocolate with caramel, Rice Krispies and nuts.
The winner of the competition received the winning creation on his birthday and will be sent another batch at Christmas. The prize was also named after the artist.
Pam McCafferty, Ciaran’s mum, said: “He entered in December and won the seven to 12 category. I thought that they would forget to send him the chocolate in time for his birthday on June 28 but they remembered. He was so made up.
“He was so excited and now he has the competition bug, he wants to win himself a Wii.”
