A PERSISTENT man who repeatedly breached his restraining order has been jailed.

Warrington Crown Court heard on Friday how Paul Anderson, of Poplars Avenue, Orford, breached his order by going within 50 metres of his former partner’s house on Poole Crescent, on June 18.

The court heard a catalogue of offences including: l The 38-year-old approached his former partner while she was with their child on the day that he was released from prison.

l He entered the property and was found drinking tea before being removed by police on June 3.

l On June 18, while on conditional bail, he went to her home on three occasions. The first time shouting his partner’s name through the door.

David Jones, prosecuting, said: “She said she felt anxious and awkward. He’s very unpredictable.”

Andrew Downie, defending, said that the couple’s relationship had broken down in 2004 due to his persistence and irritating behaviour.

He added that it was difficult for the defendant when one day the woman was content with his presence then on another occasion was not.

Judge Elgan Edwards, said: “What you have to get into your head is that restraining orders are to stop you from going near your partner.

“If you go anywhere near her house there’s a risk that she will make a complaint. Your sentences are going to get much longer if you do it again.”

Mr Downie said that Anderson was keen to return to live with his family in London to resist temptation of breaching his order.

Anderson was ordered to spend six months in custody.

Anderson, said: “It’s my fault that I made contact so it’s ok.”
