A COFFEE shop that has stood in Stockton Heath for more than a decade is closing its doors today, Thursday.

Last month, Costa Coffee revealed that April 11 would be its last day operating in the village.

No reason for the closure was provided, although the chain said it was working closely with its team members to deploy them to other stores where possible.

Many residents were disappointed with the news when it was initially announced.

One person said: “So sad that this Costa is closing. It is the friendliest and most chilled of all Costas around in Warrington.”

Another said: “I am gutted, I love that Costa and the staff are lovely.”

The closure means the nearest Costa Coffee branch for South Warrington residents will be at the Golden Square.
