A GOVERNMENT minister has paid a visit to Warrington Hospital

Health Minister Andrew Stephenson toured the Lovely Lane site with staff and Warrington South MP Andy Carter.

Here, they discussed work to reduce waiting lists and waiting times for patients.

This is an area where ‘inroads are being made’, according to the town’s MP, with work ongoing to continue this trend.

“It was good to be able to spend time at Warrington Hospital with Health Minister Andrew Stephenson to see how staff are working to reduce patient waiting times across its services.

“Talking to medical staff and the hospital leadership team, we discussed the initiatives underway in three specialties.

“These include urology and gynaecology, which includes action such as running weekend operating lists, as well as discussing facilities and wait times in A&E and the need for a new hospital in Warrington.

“Along with the Prime Minister, I am focused on doing all I can to reduce NHS waiting lists.

“We are making inroads, with latest data showing overall waiting lists fell for the fourth month in a row.”
