ONE of the most popular events at a village festival is calling on local artists.

Following on from the success of last year where more than 100 artists showcased their work, an art exhibition will be returning to Stockton Heath Festival this summer.

Artists of any level and experience are invited to submit up to two pieces of work for inclusion in the exhibition, which will be displayed at St Thomas’ Church.

Members of the public can view, purchase, and vote for their favourite work, with the winner receiving the prestigious Tudor Pole People’s Trophy.

Art exhibition co-ordinator Clare Rawlinson said: “The Art Exhibition is one of the most popular events at Stockton Heath Festival and following feedback, this year we have made some great new additions to the programme.

“We look forward to welcoming artists and art-loving audiences back for our 2024 exhibition.”

Vicar Michael Ridley added: “This year sees me being a model for our wonderful artists and I look forward to seeing the work they will produce.”

There will also be new additions at the art exhibition, including drawing workshops for kids, family workshops, and a life drawing session.

Also new this year will be an artist in residence where participating artists will be in the church creating pieces and discussing their practice, inspiration, and techniques.
