LITTLE Pink is a thriving business in Megan Jayne Hair Studio on Chester Road.

Business owner Emma Williams trained as a beautician several years ago and, after having a salon in Stockton Heath, she decided to open a small beauty room in 2020.

Here, in our latest Meet The Beauty Therapist feature, Emma tells us about Little Pink – the beauty and aesthetics salon offering affordable beauty for all.

Why did you decide to open your own salon?

Having trained many years ago as a beautician, and having a salon in Stockton Heath, life took me in a different direction and in 2020 I took the decision that I wanted to open up a small beauty room. This took off and we now have multiple beauty rooms.

What’s your hair and beauty background?

I trained as a Level 4 beauty therapist originally and then progressed to aesthetics including masters courses for aesthetics and fillers.

Why this type of business?

I love meeting new people and I am passionate about helping clients feel better about themselves.

Were you open before/during/after the Covid-19 pandemic? How did this affect your business?

We opened in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic by accident. We had only just opened but the pandemic still affected us. We didn’t grow our client base as quickly as we would have liked.

What makes your business different to others in the same area/field? What sets your business apart from your competitors?

We promote offers to our clients on a weekly or monthly basis so that my ethos of affordable beauty for all remains, whether that be a flash offer on an aesthetic treatment if I have an available appointment or a month-long offer for a £10 massage/facial with our college trainee. We also offer older generation discounts throughout the week and offer payment plans for aesthetic treatments. Our clients are part of our big family and they’re welcome to come in for a drink and a chat. There’s always a lovely atmosphere.

Why do loyal clients return to your business?

We asked some of our clients why do they come back to Little Pink. This is what they said:

Jess said: “My nails are always the best of all the salons I’ve been to before - and really quick too - and the salon has a lovely atmosphere.”

Julie said: “I return to Little Pink because I just love the girls. I’m always made to feel welcome and it’s like catching up with friends every time I go.”

Nikki said: “I love that we get service with a smile. It’s such a relaxed atmosphere and nothing is too much trouble. Once you’ve got that, you have a client for life.”

Jane said: “I am very happy with all the services and all the staff are excellent.”

Another client said: “From day one, I felt welcome. I was a bit nervous for my anti-wrinkle treatment and Emma made my nerves disappear. Everything is explained clearly and nothing is rushed. I live an hour away and salons closer to home offer the same stuff but I wouldn’t trust anyone like I do Little Pink – it makes the drive worth it.”

What’s next? What do the next few months hold for you and your salon?

Next for us, is we have added some new treatments to our beauty menu - spider vein removal. More exciting, we will be offering more male treatments. This will be a more discrete service where they can come and have vitamin injections, anti-wrinkle treatment, brows or waxing, without any women around.
