A NEW medical clinic has launched to help concerned patients see an expert consultant quickly and ease NHS waiting lists.

Spire Cheshire Hospital, based in Stretton, has opened a new out-patient clinic within the Watling Street Medical Centre in Northwich.

Providing support for both NHS and private patients, the clinic will start initially with orthopedic hip and knee concerns, with plans to expand the range of services in the coming months.

Patients worried about their health and wondering 'what's wrong with me?' will be able to quickly see a consultant for initial advice.

If necessary, they can then be referred to Spire Cheshire Hospital in Stretton for treatment, surgery or diagnostic tests, such as x-rays.

Ben White, hospital director at Spire Cheshire Hospital, said: “We’re delighted to open this new NHS clinic at Watling Street Medical Centre.

"We’re looking forward to making our high-quality services available to the people of Cheshire West and the surrounding area as well as supporting with NHS waiting lists."

Plans to expand the clinics services available include general surgery, ENT, urology and gastroenterology.

Consultations are currently available to patients on Thursday afternoons. Treatments can include hip replacement, knee arthroscopy, knee ligament surgery and knee replacement.

Paul Sherry, consultant orthopaedic surgeon, said: "The new Spire Northwich Clinic provides patients with several benefits, such as local access to consultant-led care, with the option to be referred to any of our Spire hospitals in the region if further investigations or treatments are needed.

"The location offers ease of access and an environment that patients are comfortable with."
