GLOBAL star Russell Crowe has confirmed he is heading to Warrington this summer.

The Oscar-winning actor will be swapping down under for downtown Warrington in July.

The 59-year-old has announced a tour that will see his band play five shows across the UK and Ireland.

It was confirmed by Crowe, perhaps known best for his acting role in the box office film Gladiator,  in a post on social media platform X, formerly Twitter.

The actor’s band, named Indoor Garden Party, will also play shows in Dublin, London, Inverness and Leeds.

Specific dates and venues for the gigs have yet to be confirmed, but they will take place in July.

A keen rugby league fan, Crowe has also been the co-owner of NRL team South Sydney Rabbitohs since 2006. He is a good friend of Warrington Wolves coach Sam Burgess.
