TWO Warrington brothers have secured funding for their ‘stand out’ business from dragons after a successful visit to BBC’s Dragon’s Den.

Christian and Ross Laing appeared on the hit show as it aired its new series last night, Thursday.

The pair, along with Christian’s fiancée Natalie Dixon, started their sock empire Stand Out Socks in October 2021 – selling brightly coloured and uniquely printed socks, gifts and t-shirts.

Ross, who was born with Down Syndrome, wanted to raise awareness of the condition and spread the message to others with learning or physical disabilities to not be afraid to stand out from the rest, with his line of eccentric socks.

And the trio took their successful Stockton Heath-based enterprise to the panel of dragons with the hope of securing £30,000 of funding for 25 per cent share in the business.

Four of the five dragons laid out offers to the entrepreneurs, with Deborah Meaden being the only dragon to withdraw.

Show favourite Peter Jones and podcast sensation Steven Bartlett both made the winning offers agreeing to invest £15,000 each in return for 12.5 per cent share each in Stand Out Socks.

Touker Suleyman and Sara Davies also made offers of £30,000 for a 25 per cent stake.

Pitching their goals to become a leading employer for people with learning difficulties, it didn’t take long for the trio to attract interest from the dragons – with them highlighting their achievements, including selling their Stand Out Socks at Manchester United’s Mega Store.

After just over a year-and-a-half, the firm has received five out of five stars on Trustpilot - a review platform that allows customers to share their experiences.

The trio left the infamous den happy, with two experts onboard their business venture and funding in place to make their vision for Stand Out Socks a reality.
