A DOG who was cruelly branded ‘too ugly to be rehomed’ has received the best Christmas present.

Earlier this year, Warrington Animal Welfare issued a public appeal to help try and find a forever home for nine-year-old Milo.

The poor pooch had been residing in the animal shelter, on Slutchers Lane near the town centre, and was recovering from an operation.

One nasty comment on the appeal saw someone say Milo was ‘too ugly’ to find a new home.

But thankfully, this has been proven wrong, with Milo now happy in his new surroundings.

In an update, the charity said: “When we advertised little Milo in the summer, someone commented he was too ugly to find a home.

“But just look how wonderful and happy he is, enjoying his first Christmas in his forever home.”

In its original appeal, Warrington Animal Welfare said: “Milo has been a very brave boy as he had a lump removed from his armpit.

“He has been so good and gentle, and he looks totally adorable in his cone of shame.

“Nine-year-old Milo is still waiting for his forever home. He is such a sweet and a very friendly boy with everyone he meets.

“He is so affectionate with people that his tail doesn’t stop wagging when people pay him attention.

“Milo is nervous around other dogs and reacts to them, so Milo will need a patient home where he is the only dog, and no cats.

“Milo is good in the home, house-trained and non-destructive, however he has only been left for short periods and would prefer a home where he has lots of love, company and attention to make up for what he has missed out on.

“Milo is great around children, so a home with older, dog savvy children will be considered. he also walks well on lead.”
