A GENTLE and friendly dog whose ears were cut off by a cruel previous owner has found a new loving home.

An appeal was launched in November to find a forever home for Nina, an 18-month-old rottweiler-cross.

She was being cared for by staff at Warrington Animal Welfare, on Slutchers Lane near the town centre.

Staff said those who meet her will instantly fall in love with her – and it seems this was the case as she is now enjoying her new home.

In a ‘wonderful’ update, the shelter said: “Following a few days of hard work, Nina is now safe in her fabulous new home.

“Thanks to everyone who shared her post. Just look at her wonderful face.”

In its previous appeal, Warrington Animal Welfare said: “This gentle, friendly, 18-month-old rottweiler-cross Nina is an absolutely wonderful dog.

“Sometime in her past, someone awful has cut off her ears, and we hope this does not put people off giving her the love she deserves.

“But we are sure when someone meets her, they will fall in love, just like she has done with our volunteers.

“Nina is so loving and loves people; she should make a lovely addition to a family and would be fine with children who are used to larger dogs aged 10 and above.

“She has not lived with any other animals, but she is good with other dogs, so we may consider a home with an existing dog subject to successful meetings and slow introductions.

“Nina enjoys her walks, she can be strong on her lead, but her recall is good. She is also good in the car.

“She is housetrained and can be left for short periods, but she prefers company. We hope that someone will give Nina a chance.”
