TWO high school sweethearts have put their talents of writing and illustrating together to release a heart-warming children’s book.

Former Lymm High student Liam Powell met his wife-to-be and the talented illustrator of his book Rebecca Dorr at school.

The couple from Latchford, both aged 33, have been together nine years and have two children together, Jacob and Zachery.

Inspiration for the book struck after Liam began observing his five-year-old son Jacob playing with their family dog Truffles using his imagination.

The pair have now written and illustrated the children’s novel, Jacob and Truffles Sky High Adventure based upon the special bond their son and chocolate Labrador share.

In true festive spirit, Liam and Rebecca have announced a Christmas bundle competition for three lucky winners to win a signed copy of the book as well as plenty of festive goodies.

Anyone who likes and shares the books social media pages will be in the running to win the prizes – which include colouring books, chocolate and a build-your-own gingerbread house.

Liam and Rebecca highlighted the plot of the book, saying: “Jacob and Truffles hire a plane and visit various places such as France, Egypt and America seeing famous landmarks as they go, therefore making the book educational in culture.”

While Liam used simple rhymes to tell the tale, Rebecca used her artistic skills to create sketches for each page of the book that were then brought to life.

The Christmas giveaway for the new book release ends this Sunday.

So, if you want a chance at a signed copy, visit Jacob and Truffles adventures page on Facebook for all the competition details.

Three lucky winners will be drawn from a hat.
