FOLLOWING a successful appeal against a council decision, plans have been resubmitted for the construction of a home in Stockton Heath.

The plans concern land off Grantham Avenue in Stockton Heath.

An application for the construction of a four-bedroomed, two-storey was submitted to Warrington Borough Council's planning department in 2019, before being refused in early 2020.

According to the council's decision notice, the large property - which includes plans for a cinema room and walk-in wardrobe - was refused for the following reasons:

  • "The proposal, by means of height, massing and siting, is out of keeping with the established character of the area and would appear incongruous. It would have a significant adverse impact on the visual amenity of the street scene."
  • "The subdivision of the plot would lead to the erection of an enclosure in close proximity to the ground floor windows on the side elevation of 6 Grantham Avenue, which would detrimentally impact on the amenity of future occupiers."
  • "The proposed vehicular access to the dwelling would lead to the loss of a lime tree positioned within the highway that provides significant value, as part of a larger grouping, to the street scene."

However, an appeal was submitted on behalf of the applicant, and it was successful as of June 2020.

Now, a fresh application has been received by Warrington Borough Council regarding the plot of land on Grantham Avenue.

Revisions have been made to the plans, including the removal of the proposed cinema room and walk-in wardrobe room.

The plans also include provision for a double garage area, too.

Public consultation on the new plans ends on November 7, with a decision due by December 12.
