A COMPANY with offices in Lymm is encouraging members of the community to show support for breast cancer awareness day.

As part of the national ‘Wear It Pink’ Breast Cancer Awareness Day on October 20, family-run North West Timber will be running a ‘check your moobs’ campaign to raise awareness of breast cancer.

The company wants to shed light on the fact that men can get breast cancer too, and should check their chest regularly for changes.

The company is encouraging as much of the Lymm community as possible to call into their North West Timber branch on the day to support the campaign and take part in this special fundraising occasion by donating to Breast Cancer Now.

All North West Timber colleagues will be wearing bright pink charity t-shirts which promote the message ‘check your moobs’, including all delivery drivers, counter assistants, and yard operatives.

Sam Mayor, commercial director at North West Timber Treatments, said: “As a predominantly male workforce, we are using this opportunity to raise as much awareness as we can around male breast cancer, not only across our immediate workforce but among the local community, family and friends too.

"We want to encourage as many people as possible to come along on the day and help us to raise as much money as we can.”
