A BELOVED jeweller will close its doors in Culcheth for the last time at the end of the month.

Sundial Jewellery is based in the CPS Centre, off Common Lane, in Culcheth, and has been run by its current owners for 14 years.

Now, however, the family jeweller is set to close its doors.

In a heartfelt post earlier this year, the store posted on its social media the message that a member of the team's family, Joe, was battling a rare form of cancer - meaning that the family would be focusing on Joe's health, rather than the store.

The original post read: "As many of our regular customers will know, Joe was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer earlier this year.

"It's been a difficult few months but we are fighting hard, and we've taken the decision to close our business so we can focus on the journey ahead and make the most of every day.

"We'll be closing our shutter for the final time at the end of July but, we are determined to end on a high!

"We've loved being part of the CPS Centre community since we took over the business 14 years ago and our final sale will be a celebration - we hope to see as many of our fantastic customers as possible over the next month so we can say goodbye in person."

The latest heartbreaking update came on July 10, which read: "It is with broken hearts we share the devastating news that Joe passed away suddenly on Friday.

"There are no words to describe our pain and loss."

It continued: "We will no longer be taking any new items in for repair but rest assured, if you have left a watch or item of jewellery in our care your repair will be completed to the highest standard by our professional team.

"Thanks to everyone who's sent their love and best wishes these past few weeks and to all our friends and family who are by our side, supporting us at this painful time.

"Joe would be so proud."
