THE north west's largest out-of-town business park was lit up in support of Motor Neurone Disease Awareness Day last week.

Birchwood Park was illuminated during the evening of June 21, which marked this year's Motor Neurone Disease Awareness Day.

The film event was organised by the Motor Neurone Disease Association, and was completely free.

There was on-site catering, as well as beverages and other refreshments throughout the event.

In solidarity with the event, Birchwood Park was lit up in various bright colours to show support for awareness day.

Motor Neurone Disease is currently incurable, and has had a recent spotlight shone on it due to the work of Kevin Sinfield following his former teammate Rob Burrow's diagnosis of MND.

The NHS says: "There's no cure for MND, but there are treatments to help reduce the impact it has on a person's daily life.

"Some people live with the condition for many years.

"MND can significantly shorten life expectancy and, unfortunately, eventually leads to death."

Paul Bullock, director of 3D 360, said: "Birchwood Park generously supported us/the event by us by letting us use the theatre there and by lighting up the buildings on the park for Global MND Awareness Day and the MND Association’s Illuminated Buildings campaign.

"3D 360 did the catering and organisation of the event on behalf of the south Lancs Branch of the MND Association as the directors of 3D 360 sit on the committee of the South Lancs Branch."
