WARRINGTON Music Festival’s bill is full of promising talent and ones to watch.

But an act concert-goers should particularly keep an eye on this year is Standin’ Man.

No stranger to the festival, it is the latest outfit of Dean Fairhurst, the former frontman of rock and roll band Slydigs.

Dean, who grew up in Burtonwood and is now based around Great Sankey, threw himself into the new project as a way to focus during the pandemic.

Now he is making the most of being back out on the live circuit with numerous gigs planned over the summer, including one of the top spots at Warrington Music Festival.

Some of Slydig’s highlights included headlining a sold-out Parr Hall for grassroots music platform Warrington Music’s fifth birthday and the amazing opportunity of touring with The Who during their 50th anniversary celebrations.

Dean must have made an impression because he has been asked to warm up for The Who again at St Helens Stadium on July 21.

But before that, Warrington Music Festival will give music fans the chance to see what the fuss is about before Dean takes his show on the road.

Standin’ Man will perform at Old Market Place for Warrington Music Festival on Saturday, June 3. The event, between midday and 11pm, is free and no booking is required.
