A SPECIALLY-adapted screening tailored for those with autism is coming to Warrington's Cineworld outlet.
The outlet, which is on Time Square, will be showing one of the summer's most-anticipated films on Sunday, June 4, and it will be an autism-friendly showing.
Disney's The Little Mermaid live-action remake will release on Friday, May 26.
Cineworld will be showing a special screening of the Disney remake on Sunday, June 4, and the modified screening will be tailored to suit those with autism who often have sensory issues.
The special showing will cut out trailers completely, with no additional adverts, as well as the house lights being up throughout the showing.
All Cineworld cinemas now have autism-friendly film screenings on the first Sunday of each month, and Warrington's will be at 11am on Sunday, June 4.
A spokesperson confirmed the plans to the Warrington Guardian, saying: "Warrington will be showing an AFS of The Little Mermaid on Sunday, June 4, at 11am.
"All Cineworld cinemas on the first Sunday of the month will have these films on with the house lights up and with no adverts or trailers playing."
There are some exceptions - the following cinemas do not have AFS as they have a sister cinema that will have the performance instead:
- Aberdeen Queens Link
- Greenwich The O2
- Harlow Harvey Centre
- Leicester Square
- Swindon Regent Circus
