OPENING your own business during lockdown was never going to be easy.

But Chloe Jones knew that she could make a success of Bamboo Salon and she was right as it’s just been named Warrington’s Best for Nails 2023.

Each week, we will be searching for the best Warrington has to offer in different categories.

Ashleigh Hair and Beauty took the first Best of 2023 title – Best for Hair in Warrington and Tomlins is officially Best for Pies.

Voting for Warrington’s Best for Roast Dinner is currently taking place and we’re also looking for nominations in our latest search - Best for Cocktails.

Next up was nails and twelve picture-perfect nail salons and nail technicians in Warrington made the shortlist for Best for Nails 2023 with Bamboo Hair and Beauty beating off some tough competition and taking the coveted title.

In 2020, Chloe, who lives in Woolston, was on the lookout for business premises having worked in local salons and never feeling settled.

She knew that being employed wasn’t for her and she didn’t want to rent a desk or chair in someone else’s salon.

The shop on Dam Lane in Woolston had only been leased by three people since the 1960s, with each of the businesses being hugely successful, so Chloe jumped at the chance to rent the space when it became available, going into partnership with her mum Maxine Naughton.

She said: “I’d always wanted this particular shop and as soon as I found out it was available I contacted the landlord.

“It was a huge risk opening the salon during a global pandemic but we’ve made it work.

“I wanted to create a salon with a super laidback vibe where people could come to have a laugh – and that’s what we do!

“We laugh from opening to closing and clients become friends.

“Clients often say they don’t want to leave when their appointment is over so I feel I’ve accomplished what I set out to do.”

Chloe qualified in nails more than 10 years ago when her dad asked what she’d like for her 21st birthday.

She asked for a nail course and the rest, as they say, is history.

Chloe said: “My mum has done beauty for as long as I can remember.

“I used to love having my nails done as a teenager and I was always interested in art at school.

“I knew after attending Priestley College that I didn’t want to go to university and I wanted to pursue a career doing nails.”

Having made the shortlist for Warrington’s Best for Nails last year, Chloe is thrilled to go one better this year and take the title.

She said: “Everyone was jumping around when we heard we’d won – it’s amazing.

“I really can’t thank our amazing clients enough for voting for us.

“They’ve helped me to build my business and without them I wouldn’t get to do the job I love.

“I feel blessed to have such an amazingly loyal client base.”
