PART of Walton Hall and Gardens will be transformed into a 19th-century sailing vessel.

The Old Riding School, which has recently been restored, is hosting an evening of music and dancing that will capture life at sea.

Old Time Sailors, a crew of 17 performers, will take to the stage in the transformed venue which will have steamer trunks, whisky barrels, and fishing nets to truly set the scene.

The musical flash mob will perform for three hours and every member of the audience will receive a copy of the Sunday Sailor – the band’s newspaper-themed programme which includes the lyrics to all of the songs so everyone can join in and sing the night away.

The sailors will only be docking into Warrington once on September 23 during their 2023 tour, with other shows selling out quickly due to high demand.

Cllr Tony Higgins, cabinet member for leisure and community, said: “We’re excited to be bringing the brilliant Old Time Sailors to Warrington for this unique musical experience in September.

“We’re also pleased that this will be the first event to take place in The Old Riding School following restoration works, which means Walton will be able to host a range of new and exciting events just like this, for years to come.

“Tickets for this event are limited, so make sure you don’t miss out on this one of a kind show and book yours today!”

This is an 18+ only show and drinks will be available to purchase on the night. Tickets are £15 per person and are on sale now at waltonhallgardens.co.uk/events/old-time-sailors.
