BUDDING young actors are being invited to step up onto the stage next month and put on a show during the Easter holidays.

Protégé has teamed up with Purple Gecko Youth to work with children who have dreams of one day treading the boards and seeing their name up in lights.

Places on the project, which will run at Beamont Collegiate Academy between April 11 and 14, can be booked here and it’s for children in years three up to year 11 who receive free schools meals.

It’s funded by Warrington Borough Council and organisers are looking for singers, dancers and actors as well as youngsters interested in music production and film and lighting.

There are 30 spaces available and children must be able to attend between 9am and 3.30pm on all four days.

Samantha Poston, director of Protégé, said: “We are a company that creates a safe space for children to work with various professionals such as choreographers, vocal coaches and videographers as well as producers, photographers and directors.

“We also have musical directors, acting coaches and dance practitioners who help the children create a musical theatre music video over the course of four intensive days.

“Day one and two we rehearse, day three we record vocals and day four we shoot the video on set.

“It’s an incredible experience for young budding performers.”
