HALLOWEEN is the best time of year for this family in Howley and they have gone all out for the scary festivities.

Horror movie fanatic, Scott Wardle has spent more than £200 on decorations to make his house the spookiest on the street.

After decorating their home, on Kerridge Drive, last year and seeing the enjoyment from the neighbours and trick-or-treaters, Scott decided to step it up gear this year.

“The neighbours loved it last year, even people from outside of the estate came to see it and took videos,” Scott said.

“And this year has been the same since we put it up last Saturday, we have had people stop in their cars and take pictures.”

This year’s unmissable display includes ghouls, lit up pumpkins, spiders and cobwebs and the all-time favourite Tim Burton character, Jack Skellington, stood by the front door to greet you as you pass.

And not only that, but Scott has also installed a projector that projects illusions through the widows visible from the outside - with one terrifying clip showing zombies trapped inside trying to claw their way out.

“This year we have stepped it up a bit – I even made a witch’s cauldron and used porridge to make it look like potion pouring out of the top of it.”

Spooky music can also be heard playing from outside of the haunted house.

“I just try and make it as fun as possible for people for the kids.

“Last year I dressed up as pennywise and stood outside the house with a big red helium balloon. All the kids loved it, and we had trick-or-treaters who had dressed up as minnie penny wises that wanted pictures,” Scott added.Warrington Guardian: Scott dressed up as pennywise for Halloween last yearScott dressed up as pennywise for Halloween last year (Image: Newsquest)

After taking his own daughter out to do a round of trick-or-treating, this year Scott will be dressing as his favourite movie character, Mike Myers, in honour of the brand-new Halloween movie that was released this month.

Scott recently went to watch the newest rendition of the classic but was left disappointed, describing it as a ‘let down’.

The decorations will be up until Halloween on Monday, October 31, visit at your own peril.
