BIRCHWOOD churches are pulling together to provide a safe space for anyone struggling to pay their energy bills this year.
'Warm Welcome' is a project between different churches in Birchwood, and is open to anyone in the community.
The churches have come together for this initiative, aimed at providing support to those who will suffer due to high costs throughout the winter.

There will be a 'warm welcome' to anyone who chooses to use the service provided by the churches.
Under the initiative, different locations will be available on different days for people to 'drop in' and speak to others, have a brew, or just come and keep warm.
The churches are aware that many people will be worried by rising bills, and they hope that this scheme will provide some relief to the most vulnerable.
Doors will be open at Thomas Risley Church, on Glover Road; the Encounter Centre, on Benson Road; and the Table, on Admirals Road.
The project is aiming to lessen the burden on those who are having to tighten their belts this winter, and those who may be worried to switch the heating on, given the increasing costs of energy at the moment.
This comes at the same time that Warrington Foodbank has urged people to donate items that will help people to keep warm this winter, including candles, blankets, hot water bottles, and pyjamas.
As well as this, there is the 'Getting Toasty' initiative from The Bread and Butter Thing, which is providing warm spaces for communities in Birchwood and Westy, too.
Birchwood's churches are proving a 'Warm Welcome' on the following days and times:
- Thomas Risley church: Monday, 1-3pm; Thursday, 8:45-11:30am
- The Encounter Centre: Tuesday, 10am-3pm; Friday, 10am-3pm
- The Table: Thursday, 11:30am-1pm
