JUST when you thought it was over, Jigsaw is back (kind of) with more sadistic traps up his sleeve to torment those he judges to be unworthy of the gift of life.
Though the torture scenes are pretty gruesome I didn't find them quite as disturbing as those featured in its prequel, but it's still a definite no no for the fainthearted or sqeamish.
This time around we are treated to a glimpse into Jigsaw's background and learn more about what turned him into a demented torturer with a point to prove and if you'll pardon the pun, an axe to grind.
There are more than a few moments of unintentional light relief, thanks to the dire acting of some of the cast, which isn't helped by a script that is cripplingly embarrassing at times. But, then again, you don't watch a movie like Saw IV for the storyline.
Jigsaw's clues are so vague and nonsensical they left me with brain ache a lot of the time; God knows how his victims manage to work them out; I'd still be stuck in a bathroom with my foot chained to the wall.
Great gore, poor performances and a great twist. All in all a splendid gore fest and I for one can't wait for the next installment.
