WRITTEN by the same author as a sequel to the original Death Wish, Death Sentence has been a long time coming.

Profoundly touching and particularly resonant in today's seemingly lawless society, Kevin Bacon plays Nick Hume, the man who has it all.

As a high flying manager of a risk assessment company, he's also got the perfect home, wife and two teenage sons. Life really couldn't get any better.

Until a gang of scummers hideously slaughter his eldest son in an initiation rite.

Life is turned upside down for the family and James Wan (famous as the man behind the Saw movies) portrays the raw emotion of each character with such sensitivity it's almost impossible not to put yourself in their shoes.

Let down by a justice system that will inevitably let his son's killer go free, Bacon turns vigilante and seeks his own form of justice and in doing so puts the rest of his family in jeopardy from the vile gang.

Yes, it's a bit slick, with impressive chase scenes and hard edged violence and even completely ridicuous in parts but if you're willing to suspend belief and go along with the movie's message you really can't fail to be left saddened and ultimately touched by an extremely powerful film.
