WINNERS of Silver in the World Bread Awards 2017, Room Forty are back in the competition this year competing in two categories.

The Tiptree World Bread Awards are held in London in October and represent a celebration of the art of real bread baking. Winning an award represents the pinnacle of bread baking excellence for craft and artisan bakers.

Competition is fierce with nearly 500 craft and artisan bakers competing and a team of 48 bread baking Masters judging and blind tasting the loaves.

Woolston-based Room Forty is an award-winning mobile Afternoon Tea Emporium and Baking School.

They have taught more than 1000 people to bake at their bread baking classes held in Warrington, Lymm, Liverpool and Northwich. The Warrington micro bakery was declared Mobile Baking Company of the Year at the Manchester & North West Prestige Awards 2020/21.

Room Forty won Silver in 2018 with their White Delight loaf, a loaf that they teach pupils to bake on their Bread Baking for Beginners classes.

Room Forty are entering their Focaccia and Wheaten loaves in the 2022 awards.

Jen Perry, owner and founder of Room Forty said: "I am so excited to be returning to the competition. It’s a real thrill. We planned to return in 2020 but of course that wasn’t to be. We are also very proud to be representing our home town, Warrington.

"We are passionate about baking real bread and are on a mission to pass on our skills through our classes. In these inflationary times we can teach people how to bake a world beating delicious, additive free loaf that will cost about 50p.

"We are taking bookings now for our programme of autumn classes taking place in Lymm including Breakfast Breads, Italian Breads and Beginners Breads with classes. Come and join us’
