DRAMATIC footage shows the scale of a car fire in Grappenhall yesterday evening, Saturday.

Fire crews from Birchwood, Penketh, Runcorn and Warrington fire stations attended the blaze in Hunts Lane and Ackers Lane area at around 6.50pm.

When firefighters arrived at the scene near Latchford swing bridge, they discovered the car, believed to be a silver Vauxhall, to be well alight

Crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames, with police officers also in attendance.

It is believed that a person was assessed by the ambulance service as a precaution.

Fire crews were at the scene for around 30 minutes.
