FIVE fire engines tackled a vehicle fire on the M62 yesterday afternoon, Saturday.

The car was ‘well alight’ after colliding with a barrier on the M62 eastbound carriage way at junction 10.

Wearing breathing apparatus, a hose reel was used to put out the flames.

Firefighters from Lymm, Warrington, Birchwood and Greater Manchester attended the scene and dampened down the area.

The motorway was closed while crews tackled the fire and there was approximately 2.1 miles of congestion between junction 10 and 11.
